Instagram officially introduced the ability for users to share multiple photos and videos in a single post, after several users spotted the feature being tested earlier this month.
Now when Instagram users go to post to the feed, they'll see a button for selecting multiple photos.
An album post will be marked with a new icon that looks like a stack of photos when it shows up on your profile page.
One downside of the new feature is that posts are limited to square ratio images and videos. A similar carousel feature has been available to brands for advertising purposes within Instagram for the past few years. Once you have the photos picked out, make sure they're properly filtered, then post away.
Instagram aficionados, brace yourselves for impact; the photo-sharing service is adding support for one of its most requested features.
When you are ready to post, select up to 10 images that you want to post, if you have a video you can add that too. To view all of the photos, swipe back and forth on the post.
Instagram's new photo albums are going to dramatically increase the amount of time people spend in Instagram. Prior to publish, you will be given an option to rearrange or reorder photos and videos. As Instagrammers test out the feature, some are left to wonder: can you save an Instagram gallery to your phone?
For Carousel posts, a series of small blue dots will appear below the post, identifying that they can be swiped through to see the full collection. Starting today, Instagram users can upload up to 10 images in just one single post.
Once the app is updated, users should tap on camera icon just like they would when creating a new post.
