Actor Michael Kenneth Williams has been cast in an unspecified role in the Han Solo spinoff Star Wars film. As of now, there's no word on who Williams will be playing, and we don't have much in the way of a plot for this film, aside from knowing that it-like Rogue One-takes place before Star Wars IV: A New Hope. This makes it a bit tricky to pin down who exactly he'll be playing in the Han Solo standalone movie.
Filming is already underway on the Lucasfilm production, which will see Alden Ehrenreich as the young nerfherder and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. "StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that Williams has officially signed on for the upcoming untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie".
You can't really argue with Williams' casting whether he ends up being the villain or not.
If you weren't excited for this movie before, you better be now!
Recently, the first cast photo for the film was revealed and featured Donald Glover, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Thandie Newton, Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke. Jon and Lawrence Kasdan are penning the script, while Kathleen Kennedy and Allison Shearmur are producing it.
Michael K. Williams is perhaps best known as Omar Little in the hit HBO drama, "The Wire", but he's also gained popularity as Albert "Chalky" White on the TV show, "Boardwalk Empire".
The still untitled Han Solo movie is now due to release May 25, 2018.
