Nintendo clearly thinks they're onto something here as the game has scored a Limited Edition that fans might dig.
Nintendo also released a new, three-minute trailer for the game, dubbed "Two Armies", that introduces dual protagonists Alm and Celica, and dives into its turn-based strategic combat, facilities, classes, and more. That means Ike, Roy, Marth, Lucina, Corrin, and Robin can make appearances in Fire Emblem Echoes. The Alm and Celica amiibo each unlock exclusive dungeons where characters can level up and earn items outside of battle.
By selecting Mila's Turnwheel from the menu on the overworld map, players will also be able to activate their Alm and Celica amiibo to use in battle.
Supplementing the new Fire Emblem amiibo, Nintendo has issued in-game functions for current Fire Emblem characters in the Super Smash Bros. roster.
Nintendo has announced the official Limited Edition of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, which includes the game itself, a hardcover Valentia Artbook, sound selection CD, pin set depicting characters Alm, Celica, and Marth, and a reversible cover sheet reminiscent of the Famicom version. How about how the amiibo play in Shadows of Valentia?
Following the success of the Fire Emblem Fates limited edition, there will be one for the upcoming Fire Emblem Echoes. In addition, as you level up of Alm and Celica, the information will be saved to their amiibo and the summoned units will get stronger. Thankfully you aren't just restricted to a standard edition of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
