Deadly shooting sparks standoff with gunman on Vegas Strip

Las Vegas Metro Police are now in a standoff with an unnamed suspect following a deadly shooting on the city's world famous strip.

A gunman barricaded himself inside a bus today along the Las Vegas Strip after a shooting that left one person dead, officials said.

At least three well-dressed masked burglars, carrying sledgehammers, smashed their way into a high-end jewelry store early Saturday at one of Las Vegas' most luxurious hotels.

Dozens of police cars surrounded the double-decker bus, which was wrapped in advertisements.

Las Vegas Boulevard has been shut down from Harmon to Flamingo.

The standoff took place outside the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. "We had one single shooting incident with two victims".

"They just shut down the street", she told the Daily News.

There is an active hunt for the shooting suspect.

Hadfield said there is no active-shooter situation inside any of the Strip's casinos. "People I think were still standing around trying to look".
