The President made the remarks in an interview on Fox News Business to host Maria Bartiromo.
In describing Comey's reading of what the Federal Bureau of Investigation was looking into regarding Clinton's use of the server, Trump claimed it was clear Clinton "was guilty on every charge".
Trump continued: "Comey was very, very good to Hillary Clinton, that I can tell you".
Jennifer Palmieri, who worked as former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's communications director during the 2016 campaign, admitted Wednesday that most journalists lean "left" - but added that the bias means they're actually "harder" on Democrats.
Trump was responding to Bartiromo's question: "Why are so many Obama-era staffers are still here?"
Trump, asked Tuesday whether he's considering taking any further action against Clinton, said, "I don't want to talk about that". You know, it's going to be interesting.
Hillary Clinton wasn't indicted; she didn't face charges; she was never found "guilty" of anything; and Comey never intervened to "save" her. Trump described details that appear to exist only in his mind. That I can tell you.
Yet, when it comes to the investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia, Trump still has confidence in Comey.

Asked to respond to Trump's comments, Brian Fallon, who had worked as a Clinton campaign spokesman, said: "There is only one candidate from the 2016 campaign now facing a federal investigation, and it's Donald Trump". We'll see what happens. "And I just refused to do that - and that infuriated everyone", Clinton said in the interview, conducted by New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof.
Trump rebuffed that notion: "Does anybody really believe that? Then, he said that she was intentionally okay", he said.
