As Musk put it, the Tesla semi could reduce the cost of transportation and would make driving safer.
NEW YORK - DEC 14, 2016: Tesla CEO Elon Musk is seen in the lobby of Trump Tower on December 14, 2016, in New York. But yesterday in a tweet storm, Musk gave an idea that the next version of the electric auto will be convertible and will be the fastest vehicle as well.
Tesla charging stations are located throughout European Union to accommodate owners of the electric vehicle. "Team has done an wonderful job". News of the pickup came in a follow-up tweet, in which Musk added it would be unveiled in 18 to 24 months. The CEO previously announced that the company had indicated a semi truck was coming shortly.
According to Trucks.com, Ramsey also said that Tesla's auto factory located in Fremont, California, and its battery plant near Reno, Nevada, might not even be big enough to handle such an expansion into commercial vehicles.
Tesla's stock stood at $304.77 a share, up $7.93 or 2.7%, in Thursday afternoon trading on Wall Street, giving the firm a market value of $49.2 billion.
Unfortunately, Musk did not reveal any further details so we do not know when it will be actually available or what kind of price is expected.
Tesla also had an update on its much anticipated Model 3 auto, which the company previously said would arrive in the middle of 2018 at the earliest.
Construction of the truck will more than likely take pace at Tesla's partially-completed Gigafactory, considering its current 5.3 million square-foot Freemont facility is running on what must be close to capacity with the construction of the Model S, Model X and Model 3. The value of the vehicle manufacturer's stock has shot up 41 percent to record levels so far in 2017, making the Silicon Valley company a close competitor with General Motors for the biggest American automaker title.
