After months of teasing that he was writing a new script, M. Night Shyamalan has finally broken his silence in a https://twitter.com/MNightShyamalan|storm of tweets.
But the director who became famous for twist endings pulled off a surprise bigger in Split than the fact that Bruce Willis was dead the whole time in The Sixth Sense. Bruce Willis appears for a brief cameo at the end of the film as his character from "Unbreakable", David Dunn.
A crowd-pleasing shot of Bruce Willis as David Dunn immediately started specualtion that Shyamalan was returning to his story of flawed characters with weird superpowers. Hot off the great reception to the movie, it seems Shyamalan is looking to five further into that universe. Shyamalan's recent films have a renewed focus on telling an interesting, scary story. In a series of tweets, he confirms he's teaming with Blumhouse Productions on a sequel to Unbreakable and Split.
In the wake of Split's release, there was much chatter as to whether or not the film might lead into an Unbreakable sequel. He also revealed he was hoping to write and direct a third film that would characters from both films. So it's not exactly clear how Shyamalan is going to bring the two villains together, but one possibility is that Crumb helps break Mr. The upcoming followup is called Glass and will combine both the worlds and the casts of both films: Willis, Jackson, McAvoy, and his costar Anya Taylor-Joy have all signed on.
Universal Pictures will release the film on January 18, 2019.
