Browns can control 2018 draft with 5 of first 64 picks

Once again, it proved that for all of the pre-draft chatter, rumors and exclusive reports, nobody really knows how it will all go down.

You could apply that same principle to the NFL Draft. It changed. I went a little earlier than I expected so I'm just excited to lay it all on the line for my family and my team. Teams will have seven minutes in round two.

Donald Driver will go down as the best 7th round draft pick in National Football League history. But there was one complaint about the draft, and that was about parking.

Chicago, which made headlines with a massive trade to move up one spot on Thursday to get QB Mitchell Trubisky, dug into Division II in the second round, taking tight end Adam Shaheen of Ashland.

- Since 1967, the school with the longest consecutive streak of seasons with at least one first-round pick is Miami (FL) at 14 from 1995 through 2008. On Thursday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was greeted with customary boos from the fans, even seeming to dare the crowd to get louder before officially putting the Cleveland Browns on the clock for the first pick of the night. Safety Malik Hooker, taken 15th overall, has a chance to be a star within a couple of years, but he'll immediately help shore up the team's iffy pass defense.

Green: From the start, I was never sold on Garrett being the No. 1 pick.

"Right now, Patrick isn't absolutely ready to play". I'll continue to pump out the final ideal drafts as the selection meeting rolls on.

Riley: Cleveland took the best player available, and it's hard to fault them for that. Here are ten thoughts in honor of ten picks added this weekend.

Mack Hollins, WR, No. 118 pick to Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round.

After three days and 253 picks, the 2017 NFL Draft is finally over.

Instead of looking for a quick fix, it looks like the Browns are trying to do some actual building.

FTW: So how did you end up at the draft?

It was touted as a defensive draft, and maybe it was.

Alabama led the SEC with 10 selections, including four first-round picks. What is bad is that teams didn't take those players until the middle of the first round.

Oklahoma State, Kansas State and West Virginia each had two players drafted. Offensive lineman Sean Harlow broke the ice for the Beavers, when he was selected late in the fourth round at the #136 overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons.

Having just recently signed future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson and with Mark Ingram still on the roster, most figured the Saints would avoid that position altogether in the draft. The best part about the Browns' quarterback choice is that it wasn't the centerpiece of the draft. The thinking was that their coaching had gotten the max out of the players; they arrived with much of their upside already realized.

The Falcons ended up drafting Takkarist McKinney after the team traded up to draft the defensive end.

Defensive tackle Solomon Thomas isn't all that far behind Myles Garrett in terms of raw ability, while they may wind up getting the steal of the draft in linebacker Reuben Foster if his health doesn't fail him and he stays out of trouble off the field. The Titans rounded out the top five with Western Michigan wide receiver Corey Davis.
