Aisha Tyler announced on Thursday that she would be leaving CBS' "The Talk" after being on the show since 2011. Tyler recently directed her first feature film, titled Axis, and her experience on the film has made her realise it is the direction she wants her to career to go in.
So, she said through tears, she had to let something go-and The Talk, which shoots 11 months out of the year, had to be that thing.
She has also begun directing.
After her official announcement during the show, Tyler shared a photo of her with her co-hosts with the caption, "Love". At the beginning of the show, she cried as she said she would leave at the end of this current season. She promised the audience that she'll be back-whether as a guest host or as a guest. "People always go 'How to you do all that?' And I don't always have an answer". The entire panel of co-hosts, whether it be Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Sheryl Underwood, or Sara Gilbert, were all present for her final episode. "And I love being with you every day and I love being out here with you guys every day", Tyler said. If you are making frequent changes to the structure and style of your show, it does make it all that harder to be able to get a consistent viewership behind you.
"Every single one of you were so full of love and support for me and it made me feel very fearless, very supported and very courageous", she continued. She added that is what she wants to do the rest of her life.
Say goodbye to Aisha Tyler! It's no secret Aisha is one of the busiest women in entertainment, and we support her as she decides to focus more time on her passion for directing, her expanded role on CBS' Criminal Minds, hosting The CW's Whose Line Is It Anyway?
