Nolito had a promising start to life in England, but his time quickly soured, eventually only making 19 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals.
He has 16 caps for Spain and has bagged 6 goals. However, he went on to make only nine league starts in total and none of those were in 2017.
Nolito become's the sixth first team player to leave City, following the exits of Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy, Jesus Navas, Willy Caballero and Bacary Sagna.
Last month the forward moaned about the Manchester weather claiming his daughter had changed colour due to the lack of sun and he had not learnt much English.
"I'm insane to return to Spain, I'd like to leave Manchester City whether it's on loan or permanently, whichever way possible", he said.
He underwent a medical with Sevilla on Sunday and is now expected to join up with the squad on their pre-season trip to Japan.
