Scaramucci went after White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, who was replaced by Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly on Friday, and chief strategist Steve Bannon in a vulgar interview with the magazine published Thursday.
In one recent instance, Tillerson found himself seemingly at odds with the White House over the U.S. approach to a dispute between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Priebus had been on the trip, but according to the White House Pool report, the vehicle he was riding in was separated from the President's motorcade, as Mr. Trump headed back to the White House.
"I am pleased to inform you that I have just named General/Secretary John F Kelly as White House Chief of Staff", Trump told his more than 34.8 million followers on twitter soon after his return from NY. "#MAGA", he tweeted. The tag at the end stands for Trump's "Make America Great Again".
Publicly, everyone made the right noises, Trump praising Priebus' six months of service, Priebus welcoming Kelly to his job he was sacked from, and Trump calling Kelly a "true star" of his administration who had don a great job as Homeland Security secretary by staunching illegal immigration.
Trump had effusive praise for Kelly at an afternoon speech with law enforcement officers today in Brentwood, N.Y., calling the Homeland Security chief "incredible, one of our real stars".
Priebus was head of the Republican National Committee before joining the White House as chief of staff.
"I just had a good conversation with General Kelly and the president, and I think you may know, I've been obviously talking to the president for a few days about this and ultimately I formally resigned [Thursday]".
"I think the president wanted to go a different direction", Priebus said.
MCEVERS: What is your sense from your sources and what you're hearing about whether John Kelly will have a better chance in this job than Priebus did? Some Senators, aghast at the manner in which the President has humiliated Sessions, their former colleague, have gone so far as to call Trump "crazy", a description captured on a hot mic.
House Majority Leader Paul Ryan threw his support behind his "close friend" Preibus during his weekly briefing, saying: "I think he's doing a great job as chief of staff".
His resignation came in spite of Trump's request that he remain in this position, a White House official and top GOP advisers said. But what remains to be seen is whether Trump will listen to him as Kelly seeks to bring order to a White House beset by chaos.
"John Kelly is a great American. And you know, the president was great".
On stepping down, Mr Shaub, who served three presidents, said it had "become clear to me that we need improvements to the existing ethics program".
"I'm not going to get into that subject. That's me and the president", Scaramucci said on CNN.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Gen. Kelly would remain the Secretary of Homeland Security until July 31 and then Deputy Sec.
Trump made the comment to reporters after he tweeted the news that Priebus' successor as chief of staff is the secretary of homeland security, John Kelly.
