Inter try to end Man United's Ivan Perisic hopes

Inter Milan are looking to tie down Manchester United target Ivan Perisic on a new long-term contract with the club.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the Croatian global for months and have reportedly had bids of £35million and £39.5million turned down by the Italian club.

"The same goes for Perisic [no intention of selling him]".

United's three major summer signings to date are all comfortably over six feet tall, with Nemanja Matic standing at 6ft 4in, Romelu Lukaku 6ft 3in and Victor Lindelof 6ft 2in.

"I don't understand where some of these stories come from", Ausilio told Mediaset Premium.

Perisic has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League giants United, though a deal is yet to materialise.

'The same goes for Perisic, who is an important player and we are now discussing a new contract with him'.

Jose Mourinho added to the club's rich history of silverware last season by collecting the EFL Cup and Europa League but United limped to a disappointing sixth-place finish in the top flight.

He said: "For the last two years Perisic has played at Inter".

"When we signed Paul Pogba, I said he was not expensive", Mourinho said after United's 2-1 friendly win over Sampdoria on Wednesday.

Replicating similar behaviour as demonstrated upon his first arrival at Chelsea, Mourinho immediately won the Serie A at Inter but was criticised by Italian media and pundits despite his team leaving a comfortable ten-point gap between themselves and both Juventus and Milan. "Even if we sell him we will need to bring in another wide player".
