Chalk that up as conjecture for now, though this scene involving Banner, Stark and Pepper appears to be quite emotional in nature, as the latter two pucker up for a smooch, before Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo's MCU stalwarts hug it out. Gwyneth Paltrow previously portrayed the love interest of Ironman as Pepper Pots while Jon Favreau was Happy Hogan, a supporting character for Tony Stark.
While it's now unclear if Paltrow will reprise her role as Pepper Potts in Infinity War, her confirmed presence in the fourth Avengersmovie could be the proof fans and observers have been looking for regarding her character's future in the MCU.
Earlier this week, on set photos from Avengers: Infinity War were released which showed Paltrow alongside co-star Robert Downey Jnr flashing what looked like a very expensive engagement ring.
Although all three of them appeared briefly in the latest Spider-Man, this would be a homecoming of sorts for Paltrow, who hasn't had a significant role in the Marvel movies since 2013's Iron Man 3. The report started when Favreau posted a photo to his Twitter account with Paltrow and captioned it with "Infinity Trinity".
Avengers: Infinity War opens in theaters on May 8, 2018.
"Avengers: Infinity War" boasts a long list of Marvel actors, which includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Pratt, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Zoe Saldana, Elizabeth Olsen, Evangeline Lilly, Karen Gillan, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, and Josh Brolin. By the looks of it, Tony may have gotten engaged to Pepper in the upcoming Infinity War or Avengers 4.
