Two weeks ago Droid Life reported on leaks of almost every major product expected to be announced at tomorrow's event, including the Google Home Mini. This new device can help Google to keep its position on top of the race of smart-home market, after the release of Echo Show and Facebook is continuing work on its video calling screen with codename "Aloha".
The miniature variant of the Google Home smart speaker, dubbed the Google Home Mini, oozed out last month. Presumably, a careless search giant employee left his testing unit visible to nearby compatible gadgets while preparing its installation or performing some last-minute software inspections. The Google Home Mini is supposed to be 4.53 x 4.53 x 4.72 inches in size and tip the scales at under a pound. As revealed by Walmart, the Google Pixel features a white rear panel. "That display should be an LG-made 6" 2,880x1,440 OLED, by the way. The latest victim is Google's Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices. It lists the display as 12.3-inches, down from 12.9-inches on the current Chromebook Pixel. Some of the things we are expecting from Google itself includes the next update on its Assistant and its works to other hardware products, and among others. The big advantage of going Google is that you inevitably get the first bite of the new operating systems when they emerge.
The Google Pixel 2 will be available at $650 starting on October 19.
Are you excited for the new Google Pixel 2?
Ahead of the official launch tomorrow, leak sort of confirms the existence of Google Home Mini.
Both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 and comes in 64GB or 128GB storage. And you're fooling yourself if you think that the Pixel 2 will be any more affordable.
