Following the early reveal by retailers (whoops!), Capcom has now officially announced Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, which brings the long-awaited Arcade Mode to the game. Arcade Edition launches on the 16th January, 2018 for $39.99. There will also be a new mode that rewards exclusive costumes through the completion of timed challenges.
Street Fighter V is immediately available for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
The Arcade Edition will also ship with every character from Season 1 and 2, which includes characters like Akuma, Urien, Juri, Kolin and Menat, along with an additional V-Trigger move for every character. It also introduces a second V-Trigger for all characters. After almost two years, Capcom is finally bringing the number one requested feature to Street Fighter 5 in a brand new version of the game.
As it's our 30 anniversary year, we wanted to celebrate by making sure Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition contained a plethora of new content. The leak seemingly confirms previous reports that fan-favorite character Zeku would be added to the fighting game.
If you already own the original Street Fighter V, there's no need to worry. Firstly, we're finally getting a damn Arcade Mode, where players select from one of six paths related to the Street Fighter series.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will feature all 28 characters, including those from Season 1 and 2 - with one more from Season 2 still to be announced. Releasing multiple different versions of the same game is a move that fighting fans became very exhausted of, and when Capcom announced that there would only be one version of Street Fighter 5 it was met with universal praise. Arcade and Extra Battle modes are both being added to the game.
