Embiid's desire to play more minutes likely will be an ongoing situation this season, or at least early on. For fantasy owners, the restriction will no doubt be frustrating, but Embiid has proven he can still be productive while playing under a minutes limit.
"Ah, [shoot]", Embiid said.

"I got a voice", he said. The game moves, I can have guys at the scorers table for two minutes with no stoppage.
He said he was excited about the season, before saying, "I hope they don't have me on a minutes restriction". "I don't know. I wish I was playing more, but we're going to see how that goes".
Between Joel Embiid's motivation to prove he doesn't need a minutes restriction to Ben Simmons finally being healthy after missing all of a year ago, the Philadelphia 76ers are being considered a team to keep an eye on during the 2017-18 season when it comes to being a surprise contender.
"I don't really know if there's a solid number", said Brown during a recent media scrum. "I feel great. Hopefully that changes based on today's practice and tomorrow's practice". But at the same time, that's me only playing four minutes a quarter, and just sitting there getting cold, and my body not being ready to go if I have to wait 8-10 minutes and then got to go finish the game, too. "We're going to discuss it, but at the same time I trust them, I trust the doctors, and even if I feel good, they have a plan behind it". In his preseason debut last Wednesday against the Nets, Embiid erupted for 22 points - including 18 free throw attempts - in just 15 minutes of action. Now, barely 24 hours after the team announced No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz would begin the season coming off the bench, Embiid is frustrated with his minutes restriction.
Embiid, 23 and one of the league's most intriguing talents - and also one of its most injury-prone players - has had his career stunted by a series of foot and back issues.
