Atlus' long-running post-apocalyptic RPG series - which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year - is to get its fifth instalment, with Shin Megami Tensei 5 being confirmed during a brief trailer.
First of all, we get to see a rather normal scene, set in the JR area of the Shinagawa station in Tokyo, with two high school students leisurely walking among the crowd. While many franchises start turning their backs on the 3DS/2DS handheld consoles, Nintendo Switch is gaining a steady growing list of upcoming video game titles.
The last game in the Shin Megami Tensei series, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse released on the Nintendo 3DS previous year.
While 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the series, it was nearly impossible that Atlus wouldn't release a new Shin Megami Tensei title for Nintendo's new console. Shin Megami Tensei has always been a bleak and bloody affair, so you should expect nothing less from this continuation of the series.
No release date was announced yet.
