Among the significant difference between GTX 1070 Ti and GTX 1070 is the amount of cores that each graphics cards able to offer to users.

Nvidia is also positioning the 1070 Ti as an upgrade specifically for the company's last-generation GTX 970 GPU, noting that the new card offers twice the performance of the popular older model. In most markets around the world, the GTX 1070 Ti cards can be pre-ordered starting today.

As expected, NVIDIA today announced GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, the latest addition to their Pascal lineup of gaming GPUs. It has a base speed of 1607MHz and a boost speed of 1683MHz. However the boost clock of the 1070 is 1683 MHz while the 1080 has a boost clock of 1733 MHz. NVIDIA's new card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe connector and has a 180W TDP. "And our partners have built cards with thermals and power supplies that allow gamers to push performance way past stock specifications". There you have the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti in a nutshell. In its press release, NVIDIA mentioned that it designed the GTX 1070 Ti to be an "overclocking monster with plenty of headroom for gamers to crank up the clock speeds".

The GeForce GTX 1070 Ti is created to handle the graphical demands of DirectX 12, HDR, immersive VR and scream through games like Destiny 2, Shadows of War, Star Wars Battlefront II and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

There are a couple of custom Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti models that you can choose from that will provide you with custom coolers which means lower temps and better performance. Nvidia fleshed out its range with more affordable GTX 1060 and GTX 1050 models over the course of previous year, but this is the first new model to be inserted into the middle of the lineup.

The rumours were all true: the new card will have GDDR5 memory instead of GDDR5X - as with the GTX 1080 - and has a bandwidth of 8Gb/s, 3Gb/s slower than the 1080.
