A new map called Blizzard World and a new hero named Moira were revealed for Overwatch during BlizzCon today, and both look absolutely tantalizing. "Biotic Grasp" is her new short-range healing and damage ability, while "Biotic Orbs" reach longer-ranges via a throwable gadget. Finally, her new ultimate "Coalescence" fires a beam across the map, that heals allies while dealing heavy damage to enemies.
Creative director Jeff Kaplan described the character something of a hybrid character, which is something a bit unusual for Overwatch, but was looking forward to seeing the character in the hands of players-even jokingly describing the characters as "OP AF". So Blizzard can advertise its other games to you while you're playing Overwatch. Yay!
Overwatch Moira Skills - What does she do? Much like Reaper, however, she also has her Fade ability, which allows her to teleport across a short distance.
No word yet on when Moira will hit PTR, but expect her to be a bit controversial (just like nearly all new Overwatch characters).
Blizzard World will be half assault, half payload.
It's an interesting time for a new character to be brought into the light, considering the current "Overwatch" World Cup games that are well underway, and very quickly coming to a conclusion. It's a feast for the eyes that will soon receive a release on the game's public test servers before its official debut in early 2018.
Last but not least, Blizzard also showed off a brand new 7-minute Overwatch animated short featuring the tank hero, Reinhardt.
