After weeks of searching, the University of Arkansas has hired its next head football coach.
Morris is 14-22 in three seasons at SMU but posted a 7-5 record this season and earned a berth in the Frisco Bowl against Louisiana Tech. Bielema had been the head coach for the Badgers since 2006. He then spent four years as the offensive coordinator at Clemson, helping lay the foundation for the Tigers' national championship last season. After 16 years as a head coach at the high school level in Texas, Morris entered the college ranks in 2010 as Tulsa's offensive coordinator and associate head coach.
In December of 2012, the University of Arkansas announced they would hire Bret Bielema, who was the current head coach at the University of Wisconsin.
Morris inherited a major rebuild at SMU, which went 1-11 the year before he arrived.
Morris replaces Bret Bielema who was sacked on November 24th following the Razorbacks loss to Missouri.
Just more than a week after ending the 2017 season with a 4-8 record and firing their head coach, Arkansas has found their new leader of the football program. SMU improved to 5-7 previous year, including a 38-16 win over No. 11 Houston.
