
5-year-old Tylon Pittman was watching a video clip of the cartoon "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and did not like what he saw.
On Tuesday morning, Good Morning America's Michael Strahan shared the sweetest story about a Mississippi-based boy who called 911 on the Grinch.
Bryam, Mississippi, Police Officer Lauren Develle rushed to Tylon Pittman's house to assure him that Dr. Seuss's Grinch wouldn't bother his Christmas on Saturday night.
A 5-year-old MS boy did the unthinkable when he thought the Grinch was going to ruin his Christmas. Taking the boy's hand in a handshake, he said: "You have saved Christmas for the people of Byram".
Police were in the holiday spirit and played along, inviting Tylon to the stationhouse, where he got to arrest someone in a full Grinch costume and place him in a holding cell.
TyLon in return asked the Grinch: "Why are you stealing Christmas?" and after a moment of thought, the Grinch just shrugged his shoulders, USA Today reported. TyLon's mother, TeResa Pittman, asked him.
She said, "I kind of find it really amusing".
"Why are you stealing Christmas?"
TeDera Dwayne Graves, TyLon's brother who is in the Air Force is at home for the very first time in four years for the holidays and he caught the loving and amusing interaction video. The Grinch was even put in jail. They decided not to take the Grinch to jail - they let Tylon do the honors! Your bravery is unmatched.
To make sure Tylon never forgets thus day, Byram police chief Luke Thompson presented him with a Grinch doll.
Thompson said he told TyLon that when he is 21, he can fill out an application to be a real officer.
"I just want to tell you something", Pittman told a 911 operator in a recording of the call, according to local paper The Clarion-Ledger.
