The Chromebook Spin 11 has options for quad-core Pentium or Celeron processors, two USB-C 3.1 ports, Google Play support, and an 11.6-inch touchscreen at a resolution of only 1366 x 768 - though at least the panel is IPS. Those will be announced when select regions bring them to market. The device also meets military-grade MIL-STD 810G compliance for durability, and MIL-STD 810F compliance for its ability to protect against sand and dust intrusion. The Acer Chromebook Spin 11 also includes two USB 3.0 ports and a MicroSD card reader to access and transfer content. Customers can stay connected to their network thanks to fast and reliable 2x2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and can connect to peripherals via Bluetooth 4.2.
Acer has yet to release any pricing or availability information for the Acer Chromebox.
Design for education and commercial customers, the latest compact Chromebox desktop model can be configured with various Intel processor models up to the 8th generation Intel Core processors. The IPS display itself, meanwhile, has a resolution of just 1366 x 768.
Unfortunately for Apple, that perfectly describes Acer's new Chromebook Spin 11 convertible.
First up is the Chromebook 11 C732, a durable-looking Chromebook that can weather a 48-inch/120-centimetre drop, apparently, and has a keyboard that's resistant to spills. Both will offer up to 8GB of RAM.
The Acer Chromebook 11 C732 models, which will start $299.99 for touch models and $279.99 for non-touch models when they go on sale in March in the USA, can be configured with Intel Celeron dual-core N3350 processors or Intel Celeron quad-core N3450 processors and 11.6-inch IPS touch-screen or non-touch-screen displays with 1366×768 HD resolution.
Chromebook Spin has a 360-degree rear hinge, which allows you to position it according to your needs.
Acer announced some new Chromebooks and the Chromebox CXI3 overnight.
The Spin 11 is by no means a Pixelbook challenging device, but when it goes on sale in April it will be a fraction of the price at €379, or about £330. Price starts at $349. It can also be specced with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of storage. The C732 is powered by either a quad-core Celeron N3450 or dual-core Celeron N3350 processor.
Windows laptops have offered pen input for many years, but Chromebooks have only recently warmed up to inking.
Will be sold via our retail channels, available in North America starting in March priced starting at $349USD. Connectivity options include, 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 along with 4G LTE capability.
The new Chromebox will feature a microSD card slot, HDMI port and Ethernet jack - which is further complimented by an optional VESA mounting kit, which mounts to the back of the monitor for easy kiosk style set-up.
