A nonprofit watchdog group has filed a complaint with the Department of Justice and the Federal Election Commission (FEC), accusing President Donald Trump of violating campaign finance law.
The first lady's office had initially said she should join president and the bevy of cabinet secretaries jetting to Davos for the annual gathering of billionaires, industrialists, and investors.
The incident is alleged to have occurred just one month after Trump's wife Melania gave birth to their son Barron.
In a statement, Common Cause President Karen Hobert Flynn emphasized the importance of financial transparency spent in elections "no matter how embarrassing the reason behind the expense".
That's a question that's now being asked by the government watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), which has flagged a Trump campaign reimbursement filing that sent $130,888.33 in campaign funds to a limited liability corporation called Trump Tower Commercial.
"I know that what President Trump wants to do is reform immigration to make our system one that puts the interests of America first", he said.
In the days after the report of the payments first emerged, Slate and In Touch both published stories detailing interviews that Daniels had given over the years, during which she relayed a consistent account of her interaction with Trump.
In a teaser clip released ahead of the interview, which is broadcast later today, Daniels is asked: "Did you have a sexual relationship with Donald Trump?".
Pence also claimed that Trump's outburst had not harmed diplomatic efforts and relationships with world leaders, even though many of them have condemned the president's remarks.
Cohen used a private company and a pseudonym to funnel the money to Daniels. While her legal name is Stephanie Clifford, she is known more popularly by her alias "Stormy Daniels".
Nevertheless, despite her lack of enthusiasm, Daniels says Donald Trump "definitely seemed smitten". She did not mention the president in her message. Daniels was planning to go public in the weeks ahead of Election Day in 2016 but very suddenly decided against doing so.
"We had really good banter", she added.
DONALD Trump's alleged porn star lover has refused to deny she slept with U.S. president in a TV interview.
Trump has vehemently denied ever having sex with Clifford, and Cohen has blasted the suggestion that he facilitated a hush payment as "completely false".
