Gronkowski was in the league's concussion protocol following a hard hit in the first half of the AFC championship game with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Gronkowski was only one of several players the Patriots listed on Wednesday's injury report.
Under the NFL's concussion protocol, players are allowed to participate in non-contact portions of practice before being cleared by an independent doctor.
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was present at the start of Saturday's practice session. "It's just a great attribute of his; it always has been since he got here". "Obviously it hurts when he's not out there for a lot of reasons, but he's doing the best he can do and we're all hopeful". Offensive lineman LaAdrian Waddle and running back Mike Gillislee missed part of practice for the third day in a row. Tom Brady and Devin McCourty have been scratched from the injury report. Super Bowl LII takes place on Sunday, February 4 in Minnesota.
"We'll make sure you're first on the list, too".
Though this will be Brady's eighth trip to the Super Bowl, the 40-year-old said he still has an appreciation for what it takes to be playing at this point of the season.
Prior to the AFC Championship game, Gronkowski had touchdown receptions in six straight postseason games.
