The post from Blizzard certainly is confusing and does come across as slightly random, but when looked at as a marketing post for a future game release the picture comes together much more nicely.
Still, that isn't to say that a Diablo game won't make its way to the Switch at some point.
Midway through the week, Blizzard's official Twitter shared a very weird video of a Diablo-themed nightlight. A Blizzard representative told Polygon: "We can assure you we're not that clever..." "[It was] meant to be a fun community engagement piece". Blizzard has since stated that they no longer intend to do so, but we at least know that the console is on the studio's mind. Blizzard bringing Diablo 3 to the Switch doesn't sound disgusting, eventhough the console versions of these games have been inferior to the PC release.
It would seem that Blizzard isn't quite done with the Diablo 3 console ports.
If true, this will be the first time since Starcraft was ported to Nintendo 64 that a Blizzard has sent one of its blockbuster titles to a Nintendo platform. That flurry of speculation spawned two very active threads on the Nintendo Switch subreddit and the Resetera forums.
We will keep our eyes peeled for further developments on this one.
