Prince Philip will undergo surgery after experiencing trouble with his hip, Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday. According to statement released by Buckingham Palace, the surgery is slated to take place on Wednesday.
Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital for hip surgery.
Philip retired from his official royal duties last August, however, a spokesperson confirmed that he would still be attending events from "time to time". It is unknown at this time whether his ailments also kept him from attending his son Prince Andrew's ceremonial appointment as the Colonel of the Granadier Guards in March. The royal has suffered from several health issues in recent years, including a brief hospitalization last June.
The duke stepped down from his public duties last summer, but on occasion does attend events with the Queen.Читайте также: Joel Embiid To Undergo Surgery For Orbital Fracture
His final solo engagement was in August previous year, when he reviewed a parade of Royal Marines outside Buckingham Palace in his capacity as Captain General of the corps.
In June past year, Prince Philip was admitted to a hospital for two days as a "precautionary measure" for the treatment of an undisclosed infection.
Despite officially retiring in 2017, Philip appeared publicly with Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family last December for Christmas morning church services and even participated in the family's yearly walk in Sandringham.
His surgery comes ahead of a busy time for the royal family, with Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, due to give birth to her third child some time this month, and the wedding of his grandson, Prince Harry, with Meghan Markle on May 19. The royal couple has been married for 70 years.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
