Snapchat's new chat function allows up to 16 people to video call at once, and each user can put lenses (animated filters) over their video feed. As with many of Snapchat's past updates, Instagram is not far behind, as one recent article found a hidden group video chat feature buried in the platform's codebase. "Now you can video chat with up to 16 of your friends at one time", Snapchat said. Tap the video icon to start a live group video chat, or tap on the phone icon for a voice call.
Friends in the group will receive a notification inviting them to join.
If your crew is even bigger, you'll have to rely on a standard group voice call, which lets you chat with up to 32 people.
In addition to Facebook Messenger, Google Hangouts and Skype already offer group video chat options.
To start a video chat, tap the video icon in a group chat in the app. Most famously, Instagram took, name and all, Snapchat's Stories, the 24-hour video diaries that disappear at the end of the day.Читайте также: The $199 Hero Action Camera Is the Cheapest GoPro You Can Buy
This is an upgrade to the Snapchat Chat 2.0 video chat features that rolled out in 2016 with support for audio and video calls.
People that view your stories with tagged users can swipe up to add them as friends, and the person you tag will get a notification once you've posted a photo/video they're in. The other user will be notified that they were included in a story.
Snapchat has been busy adding a slew of other features to the app over the last few weeks.
Regular Instagrammers should recognise the feature, as it's been available on the Facebook-owned photo-sharing app for yonks.
